At Maricopa
SBDC we use many software tools to develop and maintain
our web site and to provide services to our clients. We
regularly test commercial and freeware products with the
objective of supporting our clients in addressing their
needs at the least possible cost. Some products are kindly
provided to us by their respective manufacturers to support
our educational and client support efforts.
The
SBDC does not provide hands-on technical support services,
which are available from commercial sources. However we
frequently share our knowledge particularly with the tools
we use and especially if they are not otherwise supported
in the market.
Yugma.com
is our tool of choice for group collaboration to broadcast
our PC desktop to discussion participants and to conduct
live webinars. This product is functionally similar to others
in the market but is available free for non commercial use
to connect up to 10 participants.
Teamviewer.com
is our tool of choice for remote computer access. This product
is functionally similar to others in the market but is available
free for non commercial use and is notable for its ease
of installation. It eases tremendously our occasional need
to support clients with PC issues.
Freemind
- Is our favorite freeware mind mapping software suitable

Similar products are available commercially and several
special-purpose freeware products exist. Freemind has proven
itself with us for 0 cost and across the board flexibility
under different use cases.

that can be used off-line and with confidence that web sites
and pages previously seen do not disappear. The software
can also organize diverse information within the PC and
thus becomes a total information and retrieval tool. We
